In early 2019, I took on the volunteer role as marketing manager for the Imagine Conference and Imagine Events. This role includes managing the Facebook page and Instagram, website, blog, and outreach to local organizations and individuals to provide content and engagement.
In 2020, we decided to move the conference to a virtual platform because of concerns with the pandemic. While the Friday night session was held in person and streamed live online, the Saturday sessions were all held virtually and available to watch following the conference. I helped set up the online platform, as well as contacting speakers for refugee/immigrant sessions, and facilitating the live breakout sessions. In addition to the work done to transfer the conference to a virtual format, I also helped with advertising it and promoting on through social media and email marketing.
